The challenge of HiFi columns Just by nature of their design, narrow columns call for small loudspeakers. But that means they can be more easily overwhelmed in the lower mid-range spectrum than their counterparts with large-diameter chassis. It's a problem which is less noticeable in home cinema sound than HiFi music. HiFi fans have had to resort to traditional speakers. But Teufel has solved the problem!
Two large mid-range drivers Teufel conceived of these column speakers in such a way as to bring 100 mm mid-range drivers into play. The resulting mid-range sound is audibly expanded to eliminate the "frequency hole" and deliver a slightly "cooled" sound for music renditions. That's why the LT 2+R is a great solution for customers who want high-quality HiFi sound. For home cinema however, a nice, well-rounded harmony is sure to please.
Transition to the subwoofer
One nice side-effect of a system configured with a large mid-range chassis is that the subwoofer can be separated from the AV receiver starting at 110 Hz. Because of this, it can no longer be pinpointed spatially and can freely be placed around a room.
The center Teufel certainly took the importance of a quality center speaker for genuine home cinema sound into consideration when developing the L 220 C.
The same chassis used in the columns and satellite speakers comes into play here, guaranteeing a harmonious overall sound. The included table stand makes for a secure and effective way of setting up the speaker.
Columns and satellites The L 220 FCR is configured identically to the other speakers in the LT 2+R lineup, meaning "shorter" speakers can be used to fill the back of the room with sound. This can help with setting the system up. A narrow depth and integrated wall mounts ensure these speakers can easily be integrated into your living space. They won't dominate your field of vision like many conventional, squarish speakers do. The FCR speakers can also be used in the front of the room, with the columns situated in the back. They're acoustically identical: they have the same chassis and the same volume.
The subwoofer A 250 mm bass driver working in conjunction with a 300 watt power amplifier ensures the L2200 SW can easily fill rooms up to 35 sqm in size. An included remote control along with a front-facing display make it easy to adjust the bass from the comfort of a couch, and to quickly alter the bass mix of individual DVDs and CDs.
Available with an integrated surround receiver
The LT 2 is also available in an additional version - the LT 2 R - with an included L 2200/6 SWR subwoofer, featuring a fully-equipped 5.1 surround sound receiver.
This guarantees seamless interconnectivity with a DVD player/recorder, a TV, a DVB-T/S/C-receiever, a PC, an MP3 player, a gaming console, and/or a video recorder. No additional external amplifier is needed. An AM/FM radio and a Dolby Digital/dts-Decoder is also integrated. A remote control unifies the entire set. The integrated amplifier delivers a maximum of 500 watts.
