In the corner The A 1000 SW is a triangular shape, ideal for positioning in a corner. This has two great advantages:
Advantage 1: Takes less space.
Advantage 2: It plays 6 dB louder there - you get double the volume for the same great price.
Ideal for 15-35 sqm The amazing playback of the Motiv 10 is ideal for rooms of this size. When you're working out your sqm needed, make sure to consider only the field inside your ideal listening area: other outside dimensions aren't needed.
If you've got an especially high ceiling (more than 3.50 m/M) multiply 1.5 into your total, which will reduce the available size of your sqm.
Just remember: because the Motiv 10 is so agile and volume adjustable, you're easily able to use it in rooms of 15 sqm...
Hi-Fi playback without restriction The Motiv 10 plays CD music just as easily as it does home cinema sound; it's an excellent trade off for your existing stereo speakers. Teufel's a master at the satellite/subwoofer combination; we've been designing them, and extremely successfully, since 1989. We guarantee a solidly developed satellite with amazing sound - especially when compared to much more expensive (and larger) systems.
For perfect home theater sound: Dipoles The Motiv 10 has two MO 10 D, rear-speaker Dipoles, included.
Dipoles not only direct the sound to the front but to the rear as well. This means that if you sit between the dipoles, you're bypassing all that front/rear listening room reflection. This simulates the sound coming from a cinema, where the surround sound is played by several speakers to keep you immersed.
The advantage of dipoles is that the entire back range is filled with sound, which guarantees an extremely atmospheric sound and a very satisfying film experience - right from your couch.
Setting up the Motiv 10 Thanks to very compact boxes and a timeless, neutral design, the Motiv 10 can fit easily into virtually any living room.
There are still some site criteria to realise the best sound possible in your home cinema area. It's always best to focus on the real "listening area" - so where your TV and your sitting area is located. Centre position The centre speaker occupies a very important position as it's responsible for playback of actor's dialogue. Therefore, these speakers should be as central as possible to your main listening area, and should be positioned so that the language and picture function as a unit.
Setup of the front speakers The front speakers should be at an equal distance to the left and right of the TV, or placed on the wall.
The MO 10 FCR can be fixed to the wall thanks to the integrated wall mounts.
The optimum height or wall or shelf placement would be between 60 cm and .20 metres, to ensure full sound potential.
Setup of the subwoofer The placement of your A 1000 SW is freely selectable, with its recommended crossover frequency of 100 Hz. A corner works well, considering it's design, but you're assured amazing sound wherever you decide to put it.
Setup of the rear speakers The dipoles are best placed to the sides of the listening area at a height of from 1.40 metres to 2.10 metres. The speakers are delivered with the required wall mounting materials. The dipoles can then emit from both the front and rear so that no direct sound is heard but rather the reflections from the wall. There should be at least a 10 cm distance space to the back wall of the room.
You are also able to install the dipoles behind your position from the same height referenced above. We recommend to rotate them, mirror-image to the front speakers and then set them diagonally at a 45 degree angle to the side panel. This enables the dipoles to reflect to the side wall, and produces the desired sound.
Setup: Theory & practice These notes will help you setup the perfect multichannel playback in your home. However, you've not always the space, your partner's patience, or the area to allow such optimum placement. Try to meet the above requirements as best you can. Modern AV receivers are electronically able to compensate for any lack in the lineup. When stumped: let your ears and eyes decide.

The right cable To fully showcase your system's performance, the Motiv 10 (as well as any high-quality set) requires optimal accessories. We recommend the 2 x 2.5 qmm connection cables to connect the satellite speakers with the AV receiver.
Another good idea: connect the Teufel subwoofer cable input from the active subwoofer with the sub output of an AV receiver with a Y adapter - this allows the stereo usage of the RCA inputs on the subwoofer, which will increase the bass level.
