Power for rooms up to 50 sqmThe Theater 200 Mk 2 can be used in rooms up to 50 sqm. And it fills up the space, too...although the Theater 200 Mk 2 sounds just as convincing and powerful in rooms of 20-25 sqm.
Please note: It's important you check the listening area to calculate the number of square metres you've got to plan for; adjacent areas, such as space around a dining table, are deducted. In especially high ceiling rooms (higher than 3.50 M), multiply in a 1.5 meter adjustment.
If your room is more difficult to hear in due to neighbors or children, the space must be a bit larger. The nice part? Because the active subwoofer level and phase can be exactly customized, you can confidently utilise the subwoofer in many different sized rooms...
Best quality HiFi playbackThe Theater 200 Mk 2 is an excellent replacement for stereo standing speakers and for home cinema playback.
Teufel's a master at the satellite/subwoofer combination; we've been designing them, and extremely successfully, since 1989. We guarantee a solidly developed satellite and subwoofer with amazing sound - especially when compared to much more expensive (and larger) systems.
Available as a 5.1 cinema versionWe offer the fully configured and ready to play Theater 200 Mk 2 as a 5.1 set. Speakers that are included are the T 2000 SW subwoofer, two T 210 F front speakers, a T 210 C centre and two rear T 110 D speakers. This set offers excellent music playback and a thoroughly enjoyable home cinema experience.
The Theater 200 Mk 2 is suitable for connection to all AV Receivers - whether 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1. In a 6.1/7.1 AV Receiver you occupy the rear centre speaker, which a 5.1 set would not need. For a total 7.1 system you'd need the additional "5.1 > 7.1" kit with two additional T 110 D rear speakers.
Expandable to a 7.1 cinema setWith the "5.1 > 7.1" kit you're able to upgrade your Theater 200 Mk 2 to a 7.1 set. Two additional rear centre channels, and you're covered with brilliant sound wherever you turn!
Dipoles are betterThe Theater 200 Mk 2 contains two T 110 D rear speakers, which can work as dipoles within the Theater 200 Mk 2. Dipoles emit sound not only from the front, but phased to the front and the rear.
Dipoles not only direct the sound to the front but to the rear as well. This means that if you sit between the dipoles, you're bypassing all that front/rear listening room reflection. This simulates the sound coming from a cinema, where the surround sound is played by several speakers to keep you immersed.
Switchable dipolesYou are able to switch the dipoles from mono to dipole with the flip of a switch. Place these speakers at a height of 1.40 metres to 2.10 metres, and use an optional floor stand for placement within your room, such as the AC 4002 SP.
Setup of the Theater 200 Mk 2Thanks to very compact boxes and an intelligent design, the Theater 200 Mk 2 fits easily into virtually any living room.
There are still some site criteria to realise the best sound possible in your home cinema area. It's always best to focus on the real "listening area" - so where your TV and your sitting area is located. Centrally position the screen and then place the speakers around it to ensure optimum sound. Questions? Email our service and we'd be happy to help you set up.
Setup of the Theater 200 Mk 2 centreThe centre speaker occupies a very important position as it's responsible for playback of actor's dialogue. Therefore, these speakers should be as central as possible to your main listening area, and should be positioned so that the language and picture function as a unit.
Setup of the T 210 F front speakersThe front speakers should be at an equal distance to the left and right of the TV or placed on the wall. Both have an asymmetrical mounted tweeter. The T 210 F have an integrated M6 screw for wall mounting of the speakers. This plug screw is used for attaching the optional feet. The usage of these feet guarantees an optimum playback height for the satellite speakers. Feet >
The height for wall or shelf placement should be considered between 40 cm and 1.20 metres. It's important that the centre and main speaker are in a circular arc curved slightly to your TV. Otherwise, homogeneity might suffer.
Setup of the T 2000 SW subwooferThe T 2000 SW subwoofer's placement is relatively open within the room (crossover frequency 80 Hz). Ideal would be placement between the two front satellites. It would also be best if the subwoofer's front (with grille) is allowed to radiate freely and is not placed against a wall; if it must be placed there, minimum distance would be 20 cm away from the wall itself.
Setup of the T 110 D rear speakersThe T 110 D speakers should be operated in the dipole mode. There's a switch in the connection box on the side of the speaker. The T 110 D dipoles are best used at a listening height of 1.40 to 2.10 metres.
These speakers include the Teufel wall mounting M6 screw. This is an optimum mounting. The front of the box (with Teufel logo) should point towards the TV - this way no direct sound reaches the listener; rather it's diffused and only reflections from the wall are received. The distance of this speaker from the back wall of the room should be at least 10 cm.
You can also install the dipoles behind your seated position at a height of 1.40 to 2.10 metres. Place the speakers with the optional wall mount L-lock at an angle and align to the wall. This way the dipole reflects to the rear and side walls, thus producing the desired diffusion of sound. The distance to the wall should be at least 10 cm.
If it's not possible to place the T 110 D dipoles as described, switch the speakers to mono via the rear switch.
The setup distance for the rear centre speakers should amount to more than one metre as well as a height of 1.50 to 2.10 metres. When setting up the 7.1 set make sure to keep as equal a distance between the individual speakers as possible.
If the distance of the listening area to the rear centre speaker pair is less than a metre (because you sit directly on the sofa in front of the rear panel) we recommend using the speakers as dipoles. The ideal placement of a 7.1 system assumes the rear effect speaker are at the side wall next to the listener, and the rear centre speakers on the back wall at a height of 1.50-2.10 metres.
Setup: theory & practiceThese notes will help you setup the perfect multichannel playback in your home. However, you've not always the space, your partner's patience, or the area to allow such optimum placement. Try to meet the above requirements as best you can. Modern AV receivers are electronically able to compensate for any lack in the lineup. When stumped: let your ears and eyes decide.
Freedom to choose your AV receiverThe Theater 200 Mk 2 is not problematic concerning the AV Receiver to use. It can be combined successfully with a wide range of AV Receivers. Here on our homepage you'll find a current overview of AV receivers that meet all technical requirements.
Device recommendations >The right cableWe recommend the 2 x 4 or at least 2 x 2.5 qmm connection cables to connect the satellite speakers with the AV receiver, Teufel NF Mono RCA cable to connect the input from the active T 2000 SW subwoofer with the sub out into the AV receiver/amplifier and at last, a Teufel Y adapter: this makes stereo usage on the RCA input on the subwoofer possible, which again increases the bass level.
Right wall mountings and feet The T 210 C centre and the T 210 F satellites of the Theater 200 Mk 2 have a considerable weight and a similar depth, so it's quite powerful. Look here for an overview of the wall mounting information for the
