The satellites – a class unto themselves The satellite speakers of the Concept D 500 are equipped with technological highlights that you would normally only expect to find in more expensive high-end speakers.
The electro-acoustic characteristics of the installed treble and mid-tone speakers are optimised using Klippel measuring technology. This has made it possible to achieve impressive efficiency levels which are reflected in the speakers’ high sensitivity. The result: a very high maximum volume.
Not only that. Our engineers have adjusted the cut-off frequencies of the subwoofer to mid-tone speakers and from mid-tone speakers to treble speakers to enable a straight-line frequency response – the prerequisite for absolutely neutral, natural playback and for the award of the THX certificate.
The wave guides embedded in the satellites allow optimum emission characteristics. It means that you do not always have to sit exactly in the sweet spot to enjoy the perfect sound.
The subwoofer – purism and efficiency
The Concept D 500’s subwoofer is boosted with two long-stroke 165 mm bass speakers. These are equipped with an aluminium membrane which keeps any partial oscillations that may occur to a minimum, allowing you to enjoy an extremely precise and deep bass sound.

The powerful 300 watt class D amplifier functions extremely efficiently and produces very little heat.
Loud volume and large dynamic leaps – as often found in demanding gaming or film scenes – are no problem at all for the Concept D 500 with THX certification.
Moreover, the subwoofer is equipped with spikes that guarantee effective deep bass decoupling from the floor.
Everything under control
With the optically appealing cable remote control you can easily set the system volume as well as the bass level on the subwoofer. The position of each control is indicated via a blue LED circle. This means that you have total control over your sound levels – even in the dark.
The lead from the subwoofer to the remote control is long enough that you can even conveniently control your Concept D 500 from a large writing desk. Use the solid metal 3.5 mm jack sockets to attach headphones and a microphone. And they are robust enough to withstand the stresses and strains of hard gaming.
Connection You can connect the Concept D 500 THX Certified to the line-out/headphone socket on your PC or notebook using a mini cinch Y cable. The input is of course also suitable for an MP3 player, CD player or any other stereo source.
Setting up the Concept D 500 as a PC system
When setting up a PC sound system it is always advisable to focus on the sound requirements of the PC workplace, i.e. the area where the screen and receivers are located. It is best to position the satellites to the left and right of the screen at equal distances to the sitting position if possible. The supplied heavyweight metal table bases enable an optimal alignment of the satellites to your listening position.
The subwoofer can be placed anywhere and will not affect the other speakers. Ideally, you should choose a location that is along a straight line between the two satellite speakers; for instance, at a spot around two-thirds the way along it. The subwoofer should not, however, be set up in the corner of a room as this can cause uncontrollable excessive frequencies.
Setting up the Concept D 500 for sound reproduction in living spaces The Concept D 500 THX Certified can be used for music playback in living rooms if these do not clearly exceed a 30 m² area; the closer the listener sits, the greater the subjective impression of volume. The distance from the satellites to the listener should be approximately equal, but if this is not possible can be corrected using the balance function.

The right accessories Because different customers have different requirements, the Concept D 500 is supplied without any connection cables. The stereo cables can be used to connect the subwoofer to the signal sources (e.g. MP3 player, PC, CD player). Depending on the connection to your signal source, you can use a Y adapter cable (AC 5015 AP or AC 5030 AP) or a stereo cinch cable (AC 7015 or AC 7030).
The speaker cables connect the satellites to the subwoofer. We recommend using speaker cable with a cross section of 1.5 mm² (AC 1015 CS). No further plugs or sockets are required. If you need more speaker cable – for instance, because you need greater lengths or because you are trying to achieve optimum sound quality – we recommend that you order Teufel speaker cable 2 x 2.5mm².
Wall brackets You can attach your Concept D 500 satellites to a screw screwed into the wall using the in-built keyhole opening on the rear side.
Alternatively, you can use one of the optionally available vertically or horizontally movable mounts.
