5.1 speakers - surround sound for home
When audio experts speak of 5.1 speakers, they are referring to surround sound installations with a multi-channel sound system, in the form of 5 main channels and a separate low-frequency channel. Originally developed from cinema technology, 5.1 sets are now part of the standard repertoire in living rooms at home. 5.1 home cinema systems consist of two front speakers, a centre speaker, two rear speakers and a subwoofer. Apart from an AV receiver, to which the speakers are connected, these are the components of a 5.1 speaker set.
The optimal 5.1 setup
In order to get the best sound from the 5.1 speaker set, the speakers need to set up correctly. If you want to highlight dialogues during movies and games, then place the centre speaker in the middle of your television or PC, just like in the cinema. It can be placed below or above the TV or PC monitor, for example. The front speakers left and right of the TV installed, so that together with the listener a triangle, or so-called "sweet spot", is created.
The rear speakers are ideally placed in a mirror image of the front speakers. It is best to place the speakers that create ambient sound at ear level. For large speakers this is usually not a problem, for satellites it is best to use tripods or wall brackets to mount the satellites to the wall at the right height. These accessories for the optimal 5.1 surround setup can also be ordered online on the Teufel website.
When great sound looks really goodWhether in the office, study and living room, 5.1 speaker systems should easily integrate into your home setting. Desktop speakers should not take up too much space, which is why smaller satellites have been designed for computer use. Besides these satellites, Teufel also has many other stylish larger speakers within the 5.1 speaker range. The individual 5.1 speakers are available in black or white high-gloss lacquer.
