Overview of our technologies
The AIRY is compatible with all smartphones (iOS, Android, and Windows), PC, Macs, and MP3 players that have a Bluetooth interface. Play back the audio files you have stored on iTunes, Google Play or other music player along with audio from your favourite apps.
superior quality and workmanship
The AIRY passed a drop test from a height of 1.5 meters with flying colours and the special highly flexible synthetics used in its contruction evince a stability in even extremely high and very low temperature. This means that you can even leave the AIRY in direct sunlight without having to worry about your headphones getting damaged. This level of temperature resistance is not found with many other headphones, but since the AIRY was designed to accompany you just about anywhere, it was an important feature for us.
The removable earpeices as well as the silicone headband are extremly easy to clean, so your AIRY will always look as good as new.
For those intances when no playback device with Bluetooth is available, the AIRY can be supplied with an audio signal by means of an included cable.

I’ve tested them making music wirelessly on the iPad (what a relief!), playing a broad range of recordings (from Plaid to Marisa Monte, from Chet Baker to FKA Twigs, etc.).
The sound always felt natural and detailed (no hyped bass frequencies, thankfully!).
The Teufel Airy offer a good isolation (I wouldn’t want more than that while I’m outside!). The handsfree feature is a nice bonus. I have tested it with both Skype and Google Now/Siri and it worked as expected."

The rich bass reproduction knocked my socks off in the test, I liked the substance the bass could show. Distortion-free sound reproduction creates a spatiality that becomes more clear with every new effect. Thanks to the headphones' excellent dynamics, every song, no matter which genre, is presented realistically."

"[A] slight emphasis on the bass / foundational tone ensures that beats can be heard in even loud environments and that voices don’t become easily subsumed by background noise. On the other hand, the Airy is slightly restrained so that music rich in treble doesn’t run the risk of becoming irritating.”
"It cuts a first class figure even when attached to a device via cable. Connected to a large headphone amplifier, the characteristics described above became even more prominent. The bass and foundation tone are a bit more present, the dynamics and resolution are equally enhanced [...]."
"They have a very balanced yet enjoyable sound. They have a strong low end and push the bass into the ear with punch and precision. At the same time, they achieve a balance so that the rest is not submerged. On the contrary, they give all instruments enough space to unfold and each voice is endowed with its own timbre.“
"With the Airy from Teufel, you can really turn it up, literally and figuratively. Thanks to their robust construction, they have a lot to offer and yet are still completely dedicated to good sound. For these reasons, they masterfully secured the winning position in this test.”
"[T]he headband made from soft silicone is much more pleasant to wear is it might appear at first glance and is also very low maintenance. Even the – thankfully also comfortable and washable – ear pads made from imitation leather envelope the ear softly, yet have a thoroughly firm fit.”
"When it comes to essentials - namely, the sound - there’s little to criticize. In active as well as in passive operation, the 40 millimeter membranes on the approximately 150 Euro 32 Ohm headphones provide a rich, dynamic and relative distortion-free sound, even at maximum sound pressure levels of 100 decibels. Chapeau! In a direct comparison with recently tested and more than twice as expensive Level Over from Samsung, there were no noticeable differences. The sound was just as balanced.”
“[...] It is very light, easy-to-use and robustly made, sits comfortably and above all has a strong sound with or without cable from the bass to the treble. Handling and controls are very easy thanks to NFC and easy-to-reach buttons [...].”

"[The] Airy’s able to [...] produce a pleasantly full and at the same time lively sound that reaches the ear with an extreme degree of homogeneity, even at moderate volumes. The bass is again convincing, proving itself to have good impulse fidelity and power without pushing itself into the foreground.”
"The Airy dynamically and carefully adds each new effect and helps the listener achieve a complete and powerful overall impression. The comfortable fit as well as the practically distortion-free playback puts the competition under massive pressure acoustically, in the truest sense.”
"It came as no surprise that the Airy even succeeded where so many fail: 'L’Attesa‘ from Andrea Bocelli was wonderfully mastered. The headphones were able to focus on the voices without taking away any of the impact or contours from the instruments. Even markedly more expensive competitors would be hard pressed to do better.”
"Teufel’s first Bluetooth headphones above all do well in terms of the well-executed acoustics and high level of comfort. The Airy has a very comfortable fit, is pleasantly light and the stable Bluetooth transmission, clever volume regulator and user-friendly buttons for play, paus and skipping tracks should be mentioned here as advantages. Considering the very homogenous and coherent tone with powerful bass and very good overall dynamics, one can only say that the Airy is a complete success in terms of acoustics.”
“Acoustically outstanding and exceptional in terms of usability – Teufel’s “Airy” can deliver.”

"[A] secure fit [is] guaranteed even while running and jumping. For affected athletes, the decision in favor of Bluetooth has the added advantage of freedom from the unloved enslavement to cables. The unmistakable, blind operable arrangement of the buttons on the earpiece proves itself to be ergonomic. The 20 hour battery runtime is sufficient for a good week on the go. In a pinch, the Teufel device will also work with a mini jack cable.”
"The presentation is clear and lively without being detail obsessed. Its good midrange focus and the contoured, deep-reaching bass helps it assert itself more strongly in loud environments. The resolution and dynamics play at a high level. Teufel’s entrance into the Bluetooth world is free and easy.”
"The bass [...] is rich and full of energy, just as it should be. Thanks to stereo, the Bluetooth headphones ensure a perfect 3-dimensionality in which one can allow oneself to be transported by the rhythmic sound [...].”
"In terms of sound, the wireless headphones know how to perform in every possible direction. In other words: The Teufel Airy can do it all. Those who want to enjoy music, telephony and skype in the best quality will have hit upon a practical and – above all – reasonably priced choice with the Airy.”
“In terms of sound, [...] the Airy is a true Teufel: Highs that are as clear as glass, depths that are saturated in bass and zero insecurity when it comes to dynamics and sound.”
"The Teufel Airy was a winner in all the aspects tested and promises true fidelity [...]. Along with the very good sound, I was personally impressed with the wonderful blocking of outside noise.”
"The Teufel Airy is definitely to be recommended as a purchase and as an experience.”

"Both round and in equal measure discreetly and sleekly designed partially adjustable ear cups sit solidly, snuggly and yet very softly and comfortably against the ear. There is no undue sliding or wobbling.“
"The Berlin headphones played electronic music with real vim and vigor. [...] The Airy glowed with a rich, thrilling bass tone in the ear canal without sounding indistinct or timid. Along with plenty of rhythm, there was a soft, gentle offering in the upper range. Powerful, dynamic and extremely balanced with a vivid foundational tone, the Airy merged the piece into a coherent acoustic image.“
"The headphones from Berlin proved that they were able to handle high definition, refined material via direct cable connection to a Mac. This allowed [...] “Strength and Beauty“ by Ben Williams [...] to dance out of the drivers with a relaxed command and ease. They imbue saxophones and drums with the required bass and the necessary warm fusion of elements that genuinely makes the listener part of the action. Powerfully and with a passionate performance, the contours of the propulsive bass are carved out. At the same time, the music is imbued with a wonderful lightness along its way. The intensity in the midrange/treble remains consistently neutral and relaxed while the lower register conveys a combination of rich foundational tone and thoroughly spacious, musical playback.”
"The Airy consistently offered [...] a relaxed, immaculate and distortion-free presentation that scored points with a powerful and lively pacing. They showed themselves to be softer touches when it came to detail resolution, but came through with a lively, vivid style of playback. The fact that one gains a wireless feeling of freedom when wearing them, makes them the perfect companion for at home, when out and about, or on real or musical journeys.”

"The Teufel AIRY’s design is discreet and unobtrusive which makes a particularly pleasant impression. When worn around the neck, the AIRY functions as an accessory. On the head, its sleek lines don’t offend.”
"The Teufel AIRY’s low weight makes a positive impression and allows the device to be worn for many hours without discomfort.”
"When confronted by loud environments, the pressure exerted by the headband really pays off. In our Teufel AIRY test, this ensured an impressive suppression of noise on the street and in the train. You can muffle the conversation of the person next to you to a good degree by simply putting on the headphones - and you’ll hear nothing once you start to play music.”
"While the snare and the kick build up pressure in the middle, the Teufel AIRY gives vocals [...] enough room to breathe. A very powerful, rock ‘n’ roll sound is produced that is yet to be equalled in this price class.“
"Price and performance are perfectly balanced in the Teufel AIRY. The contemporary sound is very persuasive; the minimalistic design is pleasant and there is a good [...] range of features.”
"We especially liked the Teufel AIRY’s sound. What more can one ask for from a pair of wireless headphones?”

"We really liked the Teufel as gaming headphones. [...] As soon as the braided umbilical cord made its way to the stereo out on the new 3DS equipped with the Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, the Airy spoiled us with a fine stereo sound. We were continuously apprised of the direction from which Mechon, Oylen and Zanger planned their attacks. Above all, the pompous orchestral soundtrack allowed the headphones to play up their strengths.”
"I’ve listened to my fair share of headphones and am very impressed by the Airy’s natural sound without artificially enhanced bass. Don’t get me wrong: The lower frequency range is in no way lacking. Games especially benefit from the fine stereo sound with a high degree of detail that Teufel offers here.”
“The headphones’ sound is fantastic [...]."

"The elegantly and timeless design as well as compact form are not only aesthetically pleasing, they add to overall comfort. While the Berliners primarily use synthetics, it has a wonderful feel thanks to a silicone-rubberized finish. The (artificial) leather ear cushions and the silicone headband can be exchanged and are also washable. This makes the Airy also suitable as a sports headphone. The headset features premium workmanship and makes a thoroughly high-end impression because of its design features.”
"The Teufel headphones can check boxes for stable Bluetooth wireless transmission, unique volume controls via a dial as well as easily controlled buttons for play, pause and skipping tracks.”
"A special feature that is not to be taken for granted is the AIRY’s large memory. It’s able to save up to 6 different devices. Changing between audio sources takes place quickly and easily.”
"The wireless Teuel headphones have an especially bassy, full-bodied sound. [...] All things considered, the headphones produce a very balanced and homogenous sound. Especially those who prefer powerful bass will be impressed by the Airy with its very good overall dynamics. The Teufel Airy is perhaps one of the bassiest BT headphones in its price segment without the usual disadvantages in terms of dynamics and sound resolution.”

"Starting with the very first tones that tear out of the 4 mm linearly HD drivers, the Teufel Airy evinces clear playback that offers strongly contrasting details. The lower frequency range comes across as rich and animated, but in no way push too much into the foreground. In the upper range, the Airy is able to do justice to even Whitney Houston and excellently reproduces the legendary saxophone solo. In the midrange, the headphones are equally faultless and pleasantly situate the core of the midrange within the frequency spectrum. Rock/metal songs from Metallica and Slipknot as well as electronic genres are well executed by the Airy. When it comes to hip hop/funk, the headphones displays a captivating dynamic range and well-tuned bass. The listener is offered an overall well rounded sound that will please fans of all genres, that much is sure.”
"A broad soundstage meets beautiful tonal balance. The entire tapestry of sound is played back with rich details and accompanied by deep bass. The low end is not intrusive, yet knows how to be persuasive. At the same time, enough space remains for the treble range. This also presents no problem for the Airy, not even the harder hitting tones. The Teufel Airy cuts a good figure across all genres, thereby anchoring Teufel once again in our memories. Even when it comes to aesthetics, the Airy makes a stylish impression. It won us over with its both its sleek style and great workmanship.”

Weighing in at just 160 grams, these headphones are featherlight. The comfort is greatly enhanced by this low weight, although the cushioned ear pads also do their part. These are washable and can be easily exchanged if needed.”
