With drivers optimised by the Klippel Analyser System, you're guaranteed pure, linear sound reproduction -- even at high volumes. Up to 35 m²
The Ultima 40 Mk2 is perfect for rooms up to 35 m²: The stereo towers have no problem filling medium-sized rooms with powerful sound. Abover all, those looking for rich, punchy bass without an additional subwoofer will appreciate the Ultima 40, a true Teufel in every respect.
Double bass
Low frequencies are handled by two parallel 165 mm fibreglass/cellulose drivers. Thanks to a cabinet volume of 52 litres and double reflex vent, the Ultima 40 Mk2 produces fantastic bass down to 45 Hz. A large mid-range driver (165 mm) ensures great speech intelligibility, and the two 25 mm tweeters handle the top ranges brilliantly.
Developed in Berlin
When it comes to sound, Teufel leaves nothing to chance. The tiniest imperfections in the Ultima 40's driver action were identified per laser technology and corrected. The result is amazing true-to-source sound with all genres of music.
High-quality materials
Solid wooden cabinets with softly rounded corners contain advanced audio technology, the product of Teufel's over 30 years' experience in loudspeaker construction. Rock, jazz or electronic: Whatever you play on these speakers is rendered with incredible transparency and livliness.

3-way system
Over one meter tall, each tower features a 3-way speaker system. Above two 165 mm bass woofers is a 165 mm Kevlar/fiberglass midrange driver in a separate resonating chamber. This premium driver covers the range from 650 Hz to 26000 Hz. A phase plug enhances the system's thermal load capacity and prevents phase shifts from muting any of the playback. A 25 mm tweeter completes the offering with a brilliant but never-shrill treble.

"The Teufel Ultima 40 Mk2 is more than purely fun speakers - the speakers deliver a natural, fairly linear and powerful sound with little distortion. Particularly when connected to the Yamaha amplifier, the loudspeakers sound very lively, especially with the powerful, deep and surprisingly precise bass, obviously the Teufel Ultima 40 Mk2 feels at home here. Fortunately, the overall sound characteristics have been pleasantly balanced, even though the bass is quite full. Therefore, the balanced mid-tones are very homogeneous, and voices can be clearly separated from the rest of the instruments, even if you turn up the volume. The high tones are also precise and airy, only with small distortions [...]. The three-dimensionality, complexity and dynamics of the sound are expected from more expensive speakers, so the Berliners have done very well. And even at high volumes, the sound of the transducers is still precise and stable [...]. "I have listened to various songs for this test because I know exactly how those tracks should sound. The first and perhaps most important thing that immediately stands out is the detail of the speakers. This was so precise that my ear didn’t experience any fatigue, which can’t be said for some class-A speakers from a higher price range. The tightness of the bass is striking. The layer was not messy or unclear, which also can affect higher frequencies in the spectrum. This excellent bass could be a consequence of the two bass reflex opening wide, which cause less compression at high volume hits. The two bass pipes feature a trumpet shaped end on both sides, which the air merely supported. If you consider that your speakers eight weeks you can try before you may still return, and given the favorable price and the beautiful, balanced sound, I would definitely bring my living room." furnishing."

"With sophisticated Klippel analysis and intensive listening tests, Teufel fine tuned the parameters and membrane materials for the midrange and bass drivers. The result is that two woofers with 130 mm membranes made from a fiberglass-cellulose composite are at work in the bass reflex enclosure. The bass reflex tuning was also improved and endows the Ultima 40 Mk2 with an even more palpable and precise deep bass than its predecessor. The Berliners were also able to substantially lower the low-pass frequency (approx. 400 Hz) of the two midrange drivers by using a super stable and light 130 mm kevlar membrane which positively affects the homogenous dispersion of voices and instruments.
Just about the smallest but acoustically most improved detail in the new Ultima 40 Mk2 is the completely new tweeter. Which speakers do I need to expand my stereo system to a surround system?
For a home cinema system in a 5.1 format you will need, apart from both stereo speakers a centre speaker that must be set up directly on, under or next to the TV set, two effect speakers to be installed to the left and right of where you are sitting and an active subwoofer.
The following recommendations apply to centre speakers.
For existing shelf speakers or small satellite speakers:
• M 320 C
• M 420 C
• M 450 FCR
To supplement standing speakers, larger shelf speakers and voluminous two-way speakers:
• M 520 FCR
• M 550 FCR THX Select
• M 620 FCR
To supplement 3-/4-way standing speakers:
• M 800 FCR THX Ultra 2

The RAMPA insert at the bottom of the speaker sometimes is turned out with the tamping screw. What can I do about that?
Unscrew the tamping screw from the Rampa insert and screw the Rampa insert back into the bottom of the speaker.
