"Thanks to the practical remote control, the headphone connection and the option of a Bluetooth connection, the Teufel Concept C has some good advantages compared to its competition."

"The Teufel Concept C makes the virtual engines at my gaming PC buzz. If you are looking for a compact 2.1 system with a lot of bass and a good sound, you are in the right place [...]."

"The tone quality is more than just exemplary"
vr-freaks.de 07.04.2017
"The Concept C comes as a powerful 2.1 HiFi team: In addition to the 2-way satellites and a cool "puck" for volume control and source control, the set comes with a 210W down-firing subwoofer. The small stereo speakers are directly connected to the subwoofer by a copper cable. This connects the interface and the integrated 2.1 USB sound card, which works with a Cirrus Logic chip - in Berlin people leave nothing to chance."

"The installation after setup was easy: the USB sound card is easily recognised and installed quickly on Windows 8 via an included USB cable. [...] The built-in Bluetooth 4.0 ensures problem-free music playback from your smartphone [...]

If you do not want to use Bluetooth or have a USB port at hand, the input source can also be connected via 3.5mm jack. In addition, the subwoofer has a microphone input option, as well as a headphone jack."

"The sound quality is more than just exemplary, as your would expect from the Berlin audio manufacturer. The satellites work with a 2-way combination of 80mm medium- and 19mm high- tweeters. This creates clear dynamics and high-resolution sounds: in combination with the 200mm subwoofer, which is directed directly downwards by its construction, the range of frequencies is impressive, and rare in equivalent 2.1 systems."

"For the price, I can think of almost no other 2.1 audio solutions that can provide such powerful soundscapes. The design is simple, and integrated helpers such as a Cirrus Logic USB card and Bluetooth 4.0 interface create an overall solid impression. And as always with Teufel: with a 8 week right of return, the German manufacturer is always a good choice."

"impressed in our test with dedicated and dynamic sound"
PC Games Hardware Magazin 07/2016
"With 'Understatement' it's over as soon as the Concept C receives audio input, because the system plays with amazing enthusiasm. The speakers produce a free and dynamic sound, and the small 100-watt subwoofer delivers pleasingly crisp, powerful bass. For game, film or music, the Concept C is a lot of fun to use, and the sound is expected to be more entertaining than puritan. In this role the Concept C is very impressive."

"The smallest PC system from Teufel impresses with a dedicated, dynamic sound, a practical radio remote control, Bluetooth 4.0 connection including AptX coding and compact dimensions."

"the Teufel Concept C works for everyone looking for listening pleasure for smaller rooms!"
www.gamezcheck.de 13.05.2016
"The powerful bass roars from the subwoofer, whilst the two satellite speakers with their mid- and high-frequency speakers ensure a crystal-clear sound. And this is not only true when it comes to music, but also for movies and games, for example."

"With their mid- and high-range frequency speakers, the satellite speakers ensure a wonderful sound quality, which is rounded off by the subwoofer's deep bass. The system can really play its strengths especially in smaller rooms [...]."

"It definitely belongs in the category "punchy" and "playful""
eurogamer 14.12.2015
"Volume isn't worth much, everyone can be loud. The Concept C shines with how it sounds both loud and quiet, and how its sound space is differentiated with different media and genres. It is definitely in the category "punchy" and "playful" [...]. "

"The Concept C is certainly not the set for audiophile music analysts [...]. Instead of being over ambitious and attempting to achieve something impossible, Teufel has built a set that offers a clear, well-resolved, very dynamic sound up to a higher room volume - just before the neighbors come knocking on your door."

"The active and previous playback, which the set shows with music, is also evident in games. It's an almost perfect blend at moderate volume, as you would usually get from short desk speakers, which ensures that music, language and effects are also blended in action scenes. The latter do not drown anything out, and the deep bass is not too dominant - if you adjust the equaliser or have adapted the bass - and for those who are not audio experts, direct nuancing provides an ideal sound. It doesn't matter whether bullets are flying in Call of Duty or the atmosphere of Sword & Sworcery is immersive, the system has nothing to prove in terms of its volume control. This also applies to films, of course, where it is important that there is a stereo mix."

"The Concept C impressed us above all in gaming and the viewing of action films"
mod-your-case 10.11.2015
"[You should] consider inviting your neighbours round for a movie night with an action-packed film, so that at least they can make the most of their sleep deprivation."

"The Concept C impressed us above all in gaming and the viewing of action films. In these test sections the sound system could score through the powerful bass. This produces an enormous sound pressure and produces a very pleasant and deep sound, which is particularly noticeable with shots and explosions."

"The satellite loudspeakers are also totally impressive in this field of application. [...] This also applies to music playback. In this test section, the soundsystem felt particularly at home with the reproduction of hip-hop and electronic music and sounded really fun.

"In order to get the best possible results in all test areas, you should take the time to fine-tune the subwoofer. If you have found the right setting with this, you can enjoy a very good sound picture with a powerful bass combined with clear high- and mid-tones, which are particularly level-resistant."

"The Concept C is a 2.1 sound system, which is best for the gaming area. [...] Here the sound system scores particularly highly with its very powerful bass [...]."

"[...] Teufel’s Concept C is much more than just an insider tip!”
lite-magazin 07.10.2015
"The massive subwoofer along with both small satellite speakers are clearly and yet somehow subtly designed which allows them to be effortlessly integrated onto any desk or into any living room environment.”

“In a nutshell: The Concept C set exhibits thoroughly solid workmanship!”

"Two positive characteristics quickly become apparent. One is the unbelievable fullness of the sound that almost achieves the level of a classic surround sound. The feeling with chase scenes as with stadium events is of being in the middle of the action. An additional characteristic of the sound is the exceptionally pleasant articulation that is especially apparent with the playback of deeper, more sonorous vocals. Even deeper foundation tones are cleanly accented without overpowering the highs. When it comes to the ‘spoken word,’ it really hits the mark.“

"After placing our test set on the desktop, we switch over into musical terrain. Here we begin, as usually, with softer tones. Today, it’s the Lily Allen/Robbie Williams version of ‘Dream a Little Dream.’“

"The music could be ‘felt‘ in the truest sense of the word, even without the truly large bass spectacle. The Concept C passes the softer music test with flying colors and delivers a truly crystal clear sound.“

"Next, we up the ante with a more complicated piece from musical history: ’Innuendo‘ by Queen. With its complexity, hard guitar riffs, flamenco rhythm, a driving drum beat and truly one of the most impressive voices in pop music, this piece is a real endurance test for many compact speaker systems. For the Concept C, however, apparently not. Even here, our test model pleases in every way. Even more, it really knew how to blast out the sound in all the right areas, while the 2.1 package rolls out a thick carpet of sound and impressively underscores that Freddy Mercury was a complete genius. More than that, the balance of the treble and the bass as well as the perfect emphasis on the vocals nearly gives one the feeling of being there live in the studio in the year 1990. A truly goose-bump inducing moment that is only seldomly achieved with even high-priced equipment.”

"In order to summarize our really impressive listening test: With the Concept C, Teufel creates a sonic earthquake in your own 4 walls without showing a single weakness!”

"The workmanship is exemplary and whether you play video games or listen to your music collection: Your ears will be delighted.”
Gameswelt 07.07.2015
"This sound! The voluminous bass gives the sound a pleasant warmth, but can also really deliver thanks to a 40 Hz low end. The setup comprised of a 80 mm midrange driver and 19 mm tweeter in the satellite speakers transmit a clear sound so that even fine nuances can be distinguished without a problem, even if certain limits are set by the number of loudspeakers. Yet, thanks to the 2.1 soundcard with Cirrus Logic Chip integrated into subwoofer, the [...] sound system does a good job. Games also benefit from the sound package, especially in terms of the atmospherics. Games like Battlefield or Grand Theft Auto V become just that little bit more fun to play.”

"The Concept C offers fabulous sound distributed among two small loudspeakers and a subwoofer. The workmanship is exemplary and whether you play video games or listen to your music collection: Your ears will be delighted.”

"... high degree of level stability as well as the dynamic and powerful bass"
GAME ZOOM 25.06.2015
"Above all, gamers will have a lot of fun with the Teufel system, as our test subject was especially good at handling bassy situations. The powerful bass is also a lot of fun when watching movies. But the Concept is also able to master the treble and midrange of the frequency spectrum. And the new 2.1 set from Teufel is also great for listening to music. An additional plus point can be awarded for its good level stability. The first bit of distortion only enters at just under 95 percent of its maximum volume.”

"One searches in vain for serious areas for criticism with the new Concept C. After all, the 2.1 system with Bluetooth support (including NFC) and integrated USB soundcard scores points with its premium construction and very good technology. In terms of sound quality, we were above all happy with the clear highs and the clean midrange, but the high degree of level stability as well as the dynamic and powerful bass also spoke in favour of our test model. Last but not least is the practical cordless remote. What more could one ask for?”

Help regarding this product
Can I connect the Concept C 200 USB to an MP3 player, sat receiver, TV, X-Box, PlayStation, CD player, DJ mixer, etc.?

The set is a universal system. You can connect any of these listed devices via your stereo analogue inputs and play them back over your subwoofer and both satellites.
Can I also use the Motiv 2 fully active 3 channel system as a partially active speaker set on the stereo receiver / amplifier?
Although designed to be fully active, the set can also be partially active in conjunction with a stereo receiver / amplifier.

You can connect the set like a standard speaker system: The two satellites are connected to the corresponding speaker outputs R/L of the receiver/amplifier using the non-insulated speaker cable. The subwoofer is connected from the aux R input (RCA) to the sub-out output on the receiver/amplifier using a mono RCA cable.

If the receiver/amplifier has two pre-out outputs, simply use both aux-in jacks on the subwoofer. If the receiver/amplifier only has volume outputs, you will need two "voltage reducers" from Teufel special accessories to use the product there.
My Bluetooth speaker produces a lesser quality sound with my Windows PC or laptop.
It could be that the speaker is connected as a device with speakerphone function. Please go to: settings menu > devices and printer > BOOMSTER (or other Bluetooth device). Right click on the device and remove the check mark next to the “speakerphone” option.
Which speaker cables does Teufel recommend?
For smaller sets up to Theater 1, we recommend using the 2.5 mm² Teufel speaker cable for optimal sound quality if the required length does not exceed 15 metres.

For Theater 2 and larger systems, we recommend the Teufel cable with 4 mm² cross-section for the front/centre speakers, and the 2.5 mm² cable up to a length of 15 metres for the effect speakers.

Choose a higher cross-section for even greater lengths.
Is it possible to combine speaker cables with different cross-sections?
To supplement missing cable lengths you can use speaker cables of differing thicknesses without acoustical differences - provided there are no extreme differences in the cross-sections.
Should I rather choose a fully active or a partially active speaker set?
It is compulsory to connect partially active systems to an AV Receiver. This supplies the five to seven satellite speakers with the necessary power. Only the subwoofer works additionally with its own amplifier. The investment in a new system is higher because of the AV Receiver, but the solution is also much more flexible. After all, you can connect several signal sources, such as a TV, satellite receiver, PC, game console and MP3 player to an AV Receiver at the same time.

Fully active set do not necessarily need an AV Receiver. The five to seven satellite speakers here are supplied with power by the amplifiers which are installed in the subwoofer in addition to the subwoofer power amplifier. This saves you the costs of a receiver, but it is usually only possible to connect one source to our fully active subwoofer.

Exceptions here are the Concept E2, the Concept E Magnum Digital, the Motiv 5 Digital, the Concept F, the LT2+R and the Concept S+R.

Naturally you can also equip the fully active systems with an AV Receiver at a later point. The connection is then equal to the partially active sets.
Can I set up the set in a different way to that described?
The recommended set-up information below represents the best possible arrangement for perfect multichannel playback in your home. Your available space, your partner or your furniture may not always allow you to arrange the speakers in the ideal manner. Try to meet as many of the requirements as possible.

Modern AV Receivers offer numerous options for compensating electronically for any compromises in the set up. Generally speaking, the following rule always applies: you can always use our recommendations as a basis for experimenting with what works best for you, acoustically and optically. Let your ears (and eyes) decide!
Where is the optimal place for the centre of my Lautsprecher Teufel Surround System in a 5.1/6.1/7.1 configuration?
Because the centre plays back spoken dialogue, this speaker must be positioned as centrally as possible under or over the TV/monitor or the screen.

If the centre is placed outside the area of 40 centimetres to 1.20 meter height, it should be slightly inclined or angled towards the listener.

Can I order the Teufel speakers in different colours than those offered?
To realise the very reasonable sales prices usual for Teufel, it is not possible to offer the speakers in a multitude of housing designs.

This circumstance would drive up the production and storage costs, which would result in a significantly more expensive sales price.

A paint shop in your vicinity will surely be able to repaint the speaker housing to your preferred colour without loss of warranty - after expiry of the eight-week right of return.
My subwoofer is humming. What can I do?
This hum can be caused by the connected devices or disruptions in your electricity current. Please do a test to see which it is.

1. Remove the RCA cable from the input on the subwoofer. If the hum is no longer heard, go to point B. Otherwise, follow point A.

A. Attach the net cable of the subwoofer to another electricity outlet (i.e. Kitchen/Bathroom/Bedroom). If the subwoofer still hums, get in contact with our Support team.

Should the hum no longer be there, the disruption was a problem in your power supply, which can, for instance, be caused by dimmers or chargers. To find out where the disruption is, unplug all your devices and work back from there. As soon as the hum is heard, you now know your source of the disruption.

B. In your case, the "ground hum" is responsible for the disruption. Please proceed as follows to discover your source.

  • Disconnect the cable or satellite port from the TV Receiver and check if the hum disappears or not. If it does, you can use a sheath current filter for the cable outlet to prevent this. For example, the sheath current filter AC 9022 ED. If you have a satellite connection, connect the Satellite Receiver to the optical cable playback source - Teufel Optical Digital Cable

  • If this reason can be excluded, separate all devices from the AV Receiver one at a time until the hum stops. The last connected device is then your hum source and should be separated from the others using a galvanic separation filter (found in a retail shop)

  • If this doesn't work, get in contact with us once again so that we can give an individual, helpful response.

The satellites "hiss"
In principle the Concept F is a very low-noise system. In the high range area, very high-resolution quality speaker systems can 'expose' the defective quality of a signal source (e.g. from MP3 files or analogue cassette recordings) that is hardly noticeable on lower quality speakers.
You can check the basic noise level by connecting a signal, via a cinch cable, from an external source that is guaranteed to be good quality – such as a music CD e.g. on a portable CD player – to the Aux L/R input on the subwoofer. If all of the satellites are now playing noise-free, it is because they weren't receiving the right signal before. Either the cinch cable is defective (try swapping them around) or the output of your source appliance is not producing an adequate signal.

However, if you continue to hear increased noise on this channel there is possibly a fault in the Concept F. Please check which satellites are affected by changing the satellites around and to find out whether the satellite or the subwoofer electronics are producing excessive noise. If the fault "moves" with the satellite the satellite is the problem. On the other hand, if the hissing remains on the same channel, the subwoofer amplifier electronics are the cause.
The satellites 'crackle'!
Please disconnect the Teufel speaker system from your PC or other connected devices by unplugging the cable and check whether the “crackling” stops. Try operating the set with a different power source/in a different room (just use an extension cable).

If you can still hear the crackling, please check which satellites are affected by swapping them around and to find out whether the satellite or the subwoofer electronics are generating the excessive crackling. If the "fault" moves with the satellites, the satellite is affected. The subwoofer amplifier electronics may be responsible if you can still hear the crackling.
I am getting interfering radio signals!
The interference of unwanted radio frequencies may occur and is caused by local conditions. If this happens, unplug all RCA cables from the product and test to see if the radio signals stop.

If the interference continues, try using a shorter high-end shielded and insulated RCA connector cable.
How do I connect my fully active Teufel system to a multi-channel sound card?
If your sound card is set up for 5.1 operation, you will usually find three 3.5 mm mini jack outputs. Connect the card using three Y adapter cables in the 3.5 mm mini jacks to 2 x cinch formats to the inputs for the front R/L, rear R/L, centre and subwoofer at the rear of the fully active Teufel set.

The colours of the outputs and the types of signals transferred at each output differ from sound card to sound card. Please refer to the sound card manual. The Teufel system then reproduces the surround signal decoded by the sound card.

The five satellites are connected directly to the speaker clamps on the subwoofer, using the speaker cable supplied. Strip and split the ends of the speaker cable to do so. Speakers and amplifiers have corresponding [+] and [−] clamps. The [+] cable of the speaker cable is marked with a stripe. It is important to observe the correct polarity when connecting the speakers: the plus pole of the speaker connects to the plus pole of the amplifier and the minus pole of the speaker to the minus pole of the amplifier.
The subwoofer switches itself off after a long period at high volume (the satellites keep playing).
It is possible that you have operated the system outside of its performance boundaries.

The system is an extremely good-value, fully active system that performs very well for its class. It has been designed for home cinema use in smaller rooms and for PC use. It should be taken into consideration, especially in fully active operation with sound cards and DVD players, that a PC speaker system cannot fill an entire room with sound, only the area where the user is sitting. This system has not been designed for and is not suitable for long-term use at very high volumes.

If the system is operated when the volume is too high, the safety cut-off in the power pack may be activated. This cut-off switch is required for safety reasons and prevents the power pack, the power amplifiers and the speakers from sustaining damage. If this cut-off switch is activated, it means that the system has reached its performance boundaries.

Our problem-solving tips:

• Position the system speakers closer to where you are sitting. Then much less power will be needed for loud sound reproduction.

• Use an AV Receiver that will supply the satellites with power. This takes the pressure off the power pack and the power amplifiers of the system.

However, a fault cannot be ruled out if the system switches off at low volumes in rooms of 20 m² or smaller.

We are unable to authorise additional active cooling of the power amplifier. It no longer corresponds to the specifications for the operation of our products. Failures caused by additional active cooling can clearly be attributed to negligent action by the user. As operation with active cooling has a direct effect on the function of the product, it voids all warranty claims.
One satellite speaker generates no sound or distorted sound, but the other one works fine. Why?
In order to more precisely identify the problem, please try swapping the channel positions of the two satellite speakers. It should be possible to find out if the problem is a defective satellite speaker, or if it has to do with the electronics of the amplifier. If the satellite speaker functions after the swap, then the electronics of the amplifier may be defective. If not, the satellite speaker is likely broken.
There is no sound coming from either the speakers or the subwoofer
Please check that the operating lights of your Teufel device are on. If not, please change the fuse: it could be that the mains fuse on the subwoofer may have blown due to overvoltage in the mains. The fuse box is located underneath the plug. Use a small screwdriver to lever it out, replace the two jammed fuses and insert the fuse holder back into the fuse box. Now the subwoofer should be ready for use again.
Basic function test.
You can check the function of the subwoofer and the satellites by only connecting the (stereo) signal from an external source that is guaranteed to be good quality, such as a music CD played on a (portable) CD player, using a RCA cable (and possibly a Y adapter) with the front input L/R on the subwoofer.

The other four inputs on the subwoofer do not need to be occupied (= RCA cable disconnected). With this connection plug arrangement of front In L/R, the Concept E Magnum Power Edition amplifier activates all satellites and the subwoofer through internal distribution. If the subwoofer and all five satellites now play correctly via a directly connected CD player, the Concept E Magnum Power Edition was not receiving the correct signal before. Either the cinch cable is defective (try exchanging it) or the output of your source appliance is not producing the correct signal.

If you continue to experience unwanted noise/individual malfunctions, there is possibly a defect in the Teufel system.
How do I connect the five satellites to the Motiv 5?
The five satellites are connected directly to the speaker clamps on the subwoofer, using a normal speaker cable. We recommend using the speaker cable from the MO 500 W accessories package. Separate the ends of the speaker cable and remove the insulation.

Speakers and amplifiers have corresponding [+] and [−] clamps. The [+] cable of the speaker cable is marked with a stripe. It is important that the polarity of the speakers is identical when they are connected: the positive pole of the speaker connects to the positive pole of the amplifier and the negative pole of the speaker to the negative pole of the amplifier. Connecting the cables with the incorrect phases can result in thin sound, weak bass and reduced stereo characteristics. For multichannel surround systems, it is also important that all speakers are connected with the correct polarity in order to ensure the right three-dimensional atmosphere and the correct alignment of the sound.
How do I connect my fully active Teufel system to a notebook?
You can use our fully active sets to create perfect PC sound, not only on a desktop computer but also with a notebook.

If your notebook only has a single 3.5 mm stereo jack output, connect it using a 3.5 mm mini jack cinch Y adapter cable to the front input "In R/L" on the subwoofer.
Thanks to the integrated "Upmix" switch in the Concept E 2/ E Magnum / Motiv 5 / Concept F, the 4 satellite speakers play back a stereo signal and the centre speaker and the subwoofer each play back a mono signal. This admittedly does not sound as perfect as Dolby Digital, but does sound better than pure stereo playback.

You will still have the chance later on to operate your speaker using a convertible external 5.1-capable sound card, in order to experience the full pleasure of Dolby Digital and DTS.
