Dolby Atmos is an object-based audio system from Dolby Laboratories. Object-based audio is a technology that allows various speakers within a system to play back an individual signal. This gives Dolby Atmos more flexibility in placing individual sounds than channel-based systems, allowing sounds to move nimbly across the room – even overhead. Instead of a helicopter being assigned to one speaker or set of speakers, the sound becomes an “object” that literally travels through the room.
The result is a highly lifelike and immersive effect. Enjoy the peaceful sensation of leaves rustling over your head or raindrops falling down from above your sofa or chair. A tropical bird flying overhead on the screen traces a corresponding acoustic arch across your living room ceiling. More than any other system, Dolby Atmos surround speakers create a soundscape as lively and dynamic as the action on the screen.
- The LT 5‘s Dolby Atmos loudspeakers are discretely integrated into the aluminium columns. This means you won’t need to deal any additional components and are completely free from ceiling installations.
- The four Atmos speakers in the LT5 are actively guided by a digital signal processor and amplifier. This allows the drivers to attain the levels and wide frequency range required by Dolby.
- Unlike some Atmos speakers, the LT 5 employs a total of four object-based speakers for an incredibly realistic effect.
- The system is easy to set up: Whether your Amos A/V receiver delivers the Atmos signal via RCA/cinch or high level, each column contains both connection terminals.
Each identically equipped speaker contains two 130 mm woofers, an 80 mm midrange cone, a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter plus an 80 mm Dolby Atmos broadband driver. Each driver has been optimized via Klippel measurements for balanced, natural playback for incredible sound with movies and games as well as music.
The tweeters use a specially adapted waveguide for a very broad sound dispersion.
All speakers in this system share an identical construction for a harmonious soundstage. Even the centre employs a 3-way system with a tweeter placed in front of the midrange driver to maximize the available space.
The subwoofer’s giant 300 mm driver reaches depths of 28 Hz and is driven by a low-noise amplifier with many possible settings: Volume, phase switch, auto level regulation and high pass filter.
Test the set for up to 8 weeks and benefit from up to a 12 year guarantee.
