The ultimate when it comes to stereo
The Ultima 40 Mk2 forms the heart of this set. Each speaker features two 165 mm woofers for earth shaking bass -- even without the subwoofer. Klippel optimised drivers, double bass reflex cabinets, a large and attractive midrange driver (also 165 mm) plus 25 mm fabric dome tweeter create a full and rich sound. Each driver has been optimized by first-class Klippel technology – a first for speakers in this price class. This precision calibration technology allows the Ultima 20 to produce linear and balanced playback. Bass reflex ports with trumpet vents enhance the bass without wind noise. Double bass
Low frequencies are handled by two parallel 165 mm fibreglass/cellulose drivers. Thanks to a cabinet volume of 52 litres and double reflex vent, the Ultima 40 Mk2 produces fantastic bass down to 45 Hz. A large mid-range driver (165 mm) ensures great speech intelligibility, and the two 25 mm tweeters handle the top ranges brilliantly.
Developed in Berlin
When it comes to sound, Teufel leaves nothing to chance. The tiniest imperfections in the Ultima 40's driver action were identified per laser technology and corrected. The result is amazing true-to-source sound with all genres of music.
High-quality materials
Solid wooden cabinets with softly rounded corners contain advanced audio technology, the product of Teufel's over 30 years' experience in loudspeaker construction. Rock, jazz or electronic: Whatever you play on these speakers is rendered with incredible transparency and livliness.

3-way system
Over one meter tall, each tower features a 3-way speaker system. Above two 165 mm bass woofers is a 165 mm Kevlar/fiberglass midrange driver in a separate resonating chamber. This premium driver covers the range from 650 Hz to 26000 Hz. A phase plug enhances the system's thermal load capacity and prevents phase shifts from muting any of the playback. A 25 mm tweeter completes the offering with a brilliant but never-shrill treble.
A centre with a rich, full sound
Equipped with 2 midrange drivers in a D'Appolito Array, the centre produces a full and powerful sound. Dialogue in games, television shows and movies is rendered clearly and distinctly thanks to the centre’s strong midrange. You’ll understand every word, even at lower volume levels.
T 10 Subwoofer
For the first time Teufel offers a subwoofer that can be used either as a front-firing or down-firing subwoofer. Don't let the 150-Watts fool you. The new Class-D amplifier is highly efficient and produces extremely low-noise like classic amplifiers that consume 300-Watts.

"The reasonably priced floorstanding speaker, the Ultima 40 Mk2, was a big success for Teufel. Many stereo fans who value excellent sound at a small price are happy with this loudspeaker. Now the time has come to expand the Ultima 40 Mk2’s area of operation. Teufel therefore offers a 5.1 surround set. [...] The entire set has the "typically Teufel“ price of 999 [...]
The floorstanding speakers prove themselves to be bass-happy, and when the active subwoofer joins in, massive bass is guaranteed. The US 2110’s [the subwoofer] depth is excellent considering the price and size and when the "double bass“ function on the front speakers and subwoofer is selected on the menu of the A/V receiver, the bass range is powerfully reproduced, but not just with power – it is also precise. [...]
A characteristic of the Ultima 5.1 system is the high degree of balance that enables a complete, full sound. The listener has the impression of being immersed in sound instead of being on the outside looking in. [...] As the first song gets started, the Ultima 40 5.1 ensemble lets loose enormous dynamics that engage the entire room and ensure an intense listening experience. [...] For film sound, we listened to “Mission Impossible: The Ghost Protocol” (Dolby TrueHD). Even the Paramount trailer at the very beginning evinced an enormous bass power combined with excellent dimensionality. [...] Through it all, the musical score was rendered with a lively extensivity. Conclusion
Yet another reference system in this price class? "How is it possible?" many will ask, yet the reason is simple: Teufel completely understands what buyers want and consistently meets the demands of many users. One can therefore conclude the following: The Teufel sound hits hard again with a mature 5.1 set with floorstanding speakers and truly large bookshelf speakers and a perfectly tuned centre as well as a powerful subwoofer that is a pure joy with multichannel music and film soundtracks. Visually, the Ultima has a very pleasant design and the set is well made. The sound is absolutely outstanding: Raw and fine dynamics are reproduced way beyond the average for this price class.
