Overview of our technologies
With Concept C 200 USB you can be sure you'll consistently get excellent PC sound, regardless of the computer you're using. That's because the system uses Teufel's top-notch speakers as well as an integrated, high-quality sound card.
USB sound card
When you connect Concept C 200 USB to your desktop or notebook computer, you'll be sidestepping a common obstacle to great PC sound – the sound card. Your audio files are transferred digitally via USB to Concept C 200 USB, where they'll be decoded by a high-quality integrated sound card which you can rely on every time.
Concept C 200 USB is a genuine two-way system with micro satellites delivering highly sonorous and detailed audio. Mid-range sound is delivered by an 80 mm cone and while high frequencies are delivered by a 19 mm calotte. Included speaker stands make for ideal positioning on a table.
200 watts of integrated power
An overall performance of 200 watts is delivered by an amplifier housed in the Concept C 200 USB's subwoofer. It enables you to fill spaces up to 20 sqm with rich, full audio. Deep bass is generated by a side-mounted 200 mm chassis in a large-volume reflex enclosure.
Comfortable to use
All the vital functions of Concept C 200 USB can be controlled via a wired remote control designed to sit flat on a table. Volume and bass level can be adjusted there, and headphones and microphones can be connected. The standby button puts the system to sleep. Concept C 200 USB combines everyday usefulness with superior sound quality and an attractive price. It's a simple and secure way to enjoy quality audio.

The curved front provides better sound radiation than conventional constructions. An exceptionally linear frequency response is achieved in conjunction with the active filtering of the subwoofer’s six-channel amplifier, marking new standards in the field of multimedia speakers. The CE 20 FCR includes a matching table stand, but it can also be attached to the wall and swivelled horizontally/vertically with the optional Shortlock wall bracket. The separately available M 50 P stand allows it to be placed freely in the room.

True, it's a 2.1 system and therefore a no-go for those needing effects and music from all directions. But if you can live with that and don't have a PC soundcard worth mentioning, then with this set you can suddenly acquire a miraculous little sound system."

Our rating: 5/5
"No other system in the test blared the deep tones like the Concept C 200 USB. Our play tests with the space battle of the third "Star Wars" episode (DVD) and the action sequences of the great "The Dark Knight" (Blu-ray) sounded outstanding.
Also in comparison with the competition the hefty subwoofer doesn't disappoint and plays wonderful, deep-yet-clear bass sounds. Additionally, the midrange and tweeters took their part of the performance admirably and the Concept C 200 USB plays even our picky music choices with detailed aplomb."

If you know your PC's soundcard isn't up to scratch, perhaps because it's embedded onto the motherboard to save space in a laptop or budget desktop model, this speaker set is the ideal choice. It incorporates a sound card in the subwoofer, so you can plug it in via USB and bypass your PC's sound completely.
The square satellite speakers sit on small stands and have a good range, playing our test tunes perfectly well. They need to be wired up to the subwoofer with standard speaker cable, which you can buy from Teufel at the same time as you get your speakers. [...]

Wins the SILVER AWARD!
Marked differences were only present in the bass sound: Here the Teufel CC 200 SW (Subwoofer) was dominant. There are numerous loudspeaker systems available with a good quality sound, yet ultimately it is the volume level consistency that separates the wheat from the chaff. Even at 90 percent maximum volume we were not able to identify either distortion or humming from the subwoofer in the Concept C 200 USB from Teufel."
"After numerous (test) hours our short but unequivocal conclusion was reached: The inexpensive, good sounding and high-quality Concept C 200 USB from Teufel stood out as our test winner."
"The Motiv 2 was not decreased but upgraded: the new Concept C 200 has "USB" and docks to your PC or Mac. There it must work as the soundcard or be installed, which wasn't a problem in practice tests.
A nice side effect: the Concept works as an amplifier, Skype and gamers can dock headphones and microphones and the secure cable remote control is used for convenience; function, volume and bass control is visualised with blue LEDs.
The high-end built with a 20 driver decorated reflex-woofer rounds out the amazing image of this set. This could also easily be heard during the listening test: the Concept sounded like a real HiFi, dynamic when in film and PC gamer play, musical with pop and rock, and outstandingly mature even with sophisticated classical music.
The bass quality sang for "Justice Grooves" (Bass Fire, ZOUNDS) even in the high end region with a fully sprung yet still musical, clean bass that many speakers will have to fight even more than the price tag."
Outstanding, high fidelity, excellent levels with dreamy bass
For the price, there's nothing bad to say about it

"Although the gigantic active subwoofer overshadows the tiny satellites, the Teufel trio tests perfectly: the bass speaker delivers dry, hefty bass tones, the stereo plays clearly and directly.
Not only computer games would benefit from the Teufel Concept C 200 USB; but also DVD or music lovers would be set perfectly in the scene.
The worksmanship of this set doesn't set anything aside. Also, the design of the speakers, especially the subwoofer, is amazing. All in all, Teufel has more than earned our 'Definitely buy this!' recommendation."
• Practical cable remote control
• Amazing sound
• Excellent worksmanship
• Additional RCA inputs

"This small Teufel set is the univeral solution for good sound on the laptop, PC and other signal sources for digital music. Smartly assembled with a USB connection and intelligent remote control, this set with excellent sound quality is a real recommendation for budget-minded people.
It's obviously clear that this set makes your workspace a wonderful place, takes care of the feel-good factor and won't be easily displaced from your desk!"
"Teufel is very well known through Europe for its high-quality speakers. Besides quality, it's also known for delivering the kind of gear you wouldn't necessarily see elsewhere; like this high-end 2.1 speaker system designed for notebook computers.
They're the real deal with a subwoofer powerful enough to make your foundations falter, and satellites that are rich mid-range and tight in the top notes.
It's high quality, it sounds great and, since it's USB, it's very easy to set up."
"Desktop speakers are ten a penny, but this set comes with USB connectivity.
The build quality of the speakers is solid, especially the subwoofer. It's huge and very heavy - you wouldn't want to accidentally stub your toe on it. It features a total power output of 200 watts, which is more than enough to fill a room 20 m² in size with powerful noise. With a high bass setting you can feel the floor and furniture rumble around you - try playing an action-packed game and it's likely your neighbours will believe war has broken out in your living room!
The two satellite speakers are light, which means they're unlikely to pull themselves off a wall and they're easy to position. They have a two-way system that splits the mid tones via an 80mm cone, and the high frequencies via a 19mm dome, to produce rich and clear audio. Certainly some of the best we've heard from desktop speakers of this class. Set the volume to high and there's no distortion. We tried all kinds of music, from opera to hip hop through to our very own podcast, and the speakers felt at ease playing whatever we threw at them. [...]
The table remote control is of particularly high quality. When switched on, the dials and logo light up in a pleasing blue colour. Not too bright to distract you from the computer screen, but enough to let you know it's switched on. Its also heavy and has a rubber coating along the bottom, which means you won't accidentally knock it off your desk. On the top you'll find a power button and two dials that have a healthy click to them when turned - as a result you can easily adjust the volume and bass to your particular liking. You'll also find a headphone and a mic socket."
• A two-way system that splits the mid tones and high frequencies.
• Fantastic bass. Be wary of neighbours with sensitive ears.
• Features USB connectivity. Plug it into your Mac and you have your very own soundcard.
"Anyone who uses their PC as a music player is selling themselves short without a decent set of speakers, and the optimum setup is a 2.1 system, with two satellite speakers and one subwoofer, which makes the Concept C 200s a perfect bet.
They follow the Teufel lead of using huge subwoofers and tiny speakers, which look disproportionate, but don't sound that way. There's an even mix between bass and higher frequencies, as long as you're not tempted to crank the bass right up - and there's no need with this size sub. The sound is warm and satisfying and bass is fantastic, as you'd expect.
What sets the Teufel apart is that it's designed with PC users in mind. There's a built-in sound card, which enables you to connect via USB, as well as an audio jack, which improves clarity and volume, and there's no software needed. Teufel also includes a desktop volume, bass and power remote control for easy adjustment."
4 / 5 stars
"In the case of the Teufel Concept C 200 USB, we have a pair of small 2-way speakers finished in gloss black lacquer, with detachable stands to raise them from the desk.
A relatively enormous sub-woofer is provided to reproduce the low notes. All the Teufel Concept C 200 USB electronics are housed in the sub box, namely three channels of amplification and a USB digital-to-analogue converter (DAC). With this USB DAC, you need only plug the bass unit into a Mac or Windows PC USB port to enable digital audio to be piped directly into the system, avoiding the computer's own analogue audio outputs.
Some may gasp at the size of the Teufel Concept C 200 USB subwoofer unit, nearly half a metre high and with a 10in bass driver, although the use of a reflex-loaded (that is, ported) bass speaker in a large volume box does typically allow a system to 'breathe' more easily.
We found the Teufel Concept C 200 USB to sound quite flowing, with less of the usual gap in the upper bass/lower midrange frequencies that many sub/sat systems suffer.
This system is capable of playing quite loud with a conspicuously fullsome bass-rich tone, although this can be tamed somewhat by turning down the sub level from the default setting."
"Above all, the Teufel Concept C 200 USB shows that it's worthwhile to give the changing of the guard a little time to build a successful box lineup.
This stereo set offering from Teufel has numerous minor improvements - such as a better appearance, a subwoofer practically suited for everyday usage, a very functional cable remote control and, additionally, a very powerful amplifier with active crossover. The sound is also up to par, of course.
The Concept C 200 USB spoils with a round, weighty sound and a smooth pressure setting that never becomes too irritating, even at high volumes, thus: The Excellent Hardware Award."

For Theater 2 and larger systems, we recommend the Teufel cable with 4 mm² cross-section for the front/centre speakers, and the 2.5 mm² cable up to a length of 15 metres for the effect speakers.
Choose a higher cross-section for even greater lengths.
This circumstance would drive up the production and storage costs, which would result in a significantly more expensive sales price.
A paint shop in your vicinity will surely be able to repaint the speaker housing to your preferred colour without loss of warranty - after expiry of the eight-week right of return.
Fully active set do not necessarily need an AV Receiver. The five to seven satellite speakers here are supplied with power by the amplifiers which are installed in the subwoofer in addition to the subwoofer power amplifier. This saves you the costs of a receiver, but it is usually only possible to connect one source to our fully active subwoofer.
Exceptions here are the Concept E2, the Concept E Magnum Digital, the Motiv 5 Digital, the Concept F, the LT2+R and the Concept S+R.
Naturally you can also equip the fully active systems with an AV Receiver at a later point. The connection is then equal to the partially active sets.
Modern AV Receivers offer numerous options for compensating electronically for any compromises in the set up. Generally speaking, the following rule always applies: you can always use our recommendations as a basis for experimenting with what works best for you, acoustically and optically. Let your ears (and eyes) decide!
You can check the basic noise level by connecting a signal, via a cinch cable, from an external source that is guaranteed to be good quality – such as a music CD e.g. on a portable CD player – to the Aux L/R input on the subwoofer. If all of the satellites are now playing noise-free, it is because they weren't receiving the right signal before. Either the cinch cable is defective (try swapping them around) or the output of your source appliance is not producing an adequate signal.
However, if you continue to hear increased noise on this channel there is possibly a fault in the Concept F. Please check which satellites are affected by changing the satellites around and to find out whether the satellite or the subwoofer electronics are producing excessive noise. If the fault "moves" with the satellite the satellite is the problem. On the other hand, if the hissing remains on the same channel, the subwoofer amplifier electronics are the cause.
If you can still hear the crackling, please check which satellites are affected by swapping them around and to find out whether the satellite or the subwoofer electronics are generating the excessive crackling. If the "fault" moves with the satellites, the satellite is affected. The subwoofer amplifier electronics may be responsible if you can still hear the crackling.
The other four inputs on the subwoofer do not need to be occupied (= RCA cable disconnected). With this connection plug arrangement of front In L/R, the Concept E Magnum Power Edition amplifier activates all satellites and the subwoofer through internal distribution. If the subwoofer and all five satellites now play correctly via a directly connected CD player, the Concept E Magnum Power Edition was not receiving the correct signal before. Either the cinch cable is defective (try exchanging it) or the output of your source appliance is not producing the correct signal.
If you continue to experience unwanted noise/individual malfunctions, there is possibly a defect in the Teufel system.
They can otherwise be mounted to the M 50 P speaker stands, which are available for purchase as an accessory.
