"a good choice for beginners in the hi-fi world"

"The Ultima 20 Mk2 leave a good little taste of success. To summarise, these speakers offer a generous and warm sound, which is pleasant to the ear. With a simple and effective construction, their template allows the integration of generous bass drivers and honest tweeters, which still make a warm and melodious sound. You can only hear a little distortion at high volume, the stereo image is satisfactory and the blending of the frequency ranges is pretty smooth."
"If on the one hand, we can say that these loudspeakers have no particular speciality in terms of sound restoration, we can happily say that they offer a rather all-terrain musicality and an honourable mastery of the hi-fi bases. However, their size, rather imposing for entry-level speakers, may not be able to give them an easy integration in a small living room. Nonetheless, the Ultima 20 Mk2 would be a good choice to start in the hi-fi world."

"a complete soundscape that does not shift to one direction in either high-, mid- or bass-tones."

"You can't accuse Teufel for having anything less than excellent audio processing. [...] [Overall] the quality of the rounded and delicate MDF casing can not be criticised. " "The optics of the Ultima 20 Mk2 deserves praise, especially when you remove the front covers and take a closer look at the imposing 16.5-inch woofer. Due to the kevlar/fiberglass mix, it comes in a copper-like colour with elegant texturisation. It is also equipped with a so-called phase plug. With regard to the sound, this component is intended to linearise the frequency response, in order to ultimately ensure more balanced acoustics. In practice, Teufel has succeeded very well in this respect: the stereo set has nothing to hide in terms of price and is characterised by a complete soundscape that does not shift to one direction in either high-, mid- or bass-tones."

"Just great!"

"These inconspicuous speakers have [...] an unbelievable sound that you need to hear for yourself! I myself have an Uher speaker system with Peerless chassis in connection with a Kenwood Amp. That sounds quite neat. But Teufel gives even more emphasis, punch and draft than my private system with their AV receiver. Really good!"

"The entire frequency range is displayed, thanks to the 25-mm and 165-mm tweeter midrange chassis in the bass reflex housing. With an output of 80 watts, the Ultima 20 Mk2 allows for a powerful sound and noise-free image. "
"What stands out is the subtle design. Unobtrusive, simple and elegant Teufel design. The rounded corners and high-gloss front ensure that the speakers have a high-quality look. The finish and material quality is really very high. "

"The Ultima 20 Mk2 will win you over with its excellent level stability, powerful bass, and a well-executed three-dimensionality.."

"The Teufel Ultima 20 is said to offer a high level of sound quality at an unbeatable price. Many have set out to fulfill this mission, but most end up as “Mission Impossible” – the sought-after goal isn’t achieved and a sound that is more than average cannot be created. With 165 mm midbass drivers, a 25 mm tweeter and an impeccable 80 watt peak power capacity, Teufel endeavors to prove that an inexpensive pair price of just €199.99 and an excellent sound are not mutually exclusive.”
"'With ‚Stereo Love‘ by Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina, the Ultima 20 Mk2 got off to a good start. The voice reproduction is good, and the bass surprisingly resonant and deep. The Teufel speakers are also fun to use with more powerful stereo amplifiers since they don’t shrink from high levels and are in command of their playback even at high volumes. The midrange was slightly lacking in contoured details, but we could take this in stride with such an inexpensive construction.
The sound separates well from the loudspeaker. In this, the Ultima 20 Mk2 represents another a improvement from its predecessor. The very good overall dynamics and pleasant, but never boring sound could also be heard with “Full Focus” from the successful Dutch DJ Armin von Buuren. The bass has good impulse fidelity, is substantial, and we could hear a pleasant bass resonance. Compared to its predecessor, Teufel’s Ultima 20, the new version seems more assertive in the bass range. It plays with more three-dimensionality, dynamics, and clear definition while still sounding pleasant and homogenous.”
Conclusion
"The Ultima 20 Mk2 will win you over with its excellent level stability, powerful bass, and a well-executed three-dimensionality. Thanks to the large midbass drivers, the incredibly inexpensive loudspeakers played confidently and dynamically. The mids could have somewhat more structured details, but the vocal reproduction is balanced to the point that one can barely bring any criticism against these loudspeakers for just under € 200 a pair. Visually, the new version looks like its predecessor, which is not a bad thing: The form is homogenous and harmonious. The workmanship is extremely well executed and even here one realizes that there is barely anything more one could desire for the price.”

Can I order the Teufel speakers in different colours than those offered?
To realise the very reasonable sales prices usual for Teufel, it is not possible to offer the speakers in a multitude of housing designs.
This circumstance would drive up the production and storage costs, which would result in a significantly more expensive sales price.
A paint shop in your vicinity will surely be able to repaint the speaker housing to your preferred colour without loss of warranty - after expiry of the eight-week right of return.
